Services We Offer
Preventive Heath Care
Full immunizations and routine health care for your
pets. Like human medicine, veterinary medicine has evolved from treating
disease to the prevention of disease. The cornerstone of Preventive Health
Care is the routine comprehensive examination. Since our pets age much
more quickly than we do, this most important procedure should be done a
minimum of 1-2 times a year. This allows us to find and correct little
problems before they become big problems, identify risk factors like obesity
and dental disease and develop programs to control these, as well as work
with you to develop the best vaccination, flea, tick and heartworm program
for your pet to prevent many serious and potentially deadly diseases.
Hospitalization & Radiology
If your pet has an illness or injury which requires
hospitalization, we provide daily in-hospital supervision and nursing care.
Our complete laboratory and pharmacy helps us to diagnose and treat a problem
properly. When necessary, our x-ray capabilities are available for further
diagnostic service.>
Surgery
Surgical intervention when necessary to treat illnesses;
routine spaying and neutering to promote the health and well-being of your
pet. Surgery patients are monitored throughout the procedure using pulse
oximetry and EKG readings.
Dental Care
We offer a complete program in preventive dental care
including dental diets, dental treats as well as everything you need to
begin brushing your pet's teeth. Professional cleaning and polishing, tooth
extraction, oral surgery.Good oral health is just as important to the life
of our pets as it is to us. This is an exciting area in which we can truly
impact not only on how long our pets live, but the quality of their lives.
Diagnostic Testing
If
your pet becomes ill, we have a fully equipped
laboratory to help quickly diagnose the problems. This includes complete
in house hematology and biochemical (blood) testing equipment, a state
of the art radiograph machine, diagnostic ultrasonography, and transtelephonic
electrocardiography (EKG). We also use Board Certified experts in radiology,
cardiology, clinical pathology, orthopedics and other fields to help us
interpret our test results and develop the best treatment for your pet.
Behavior Counseling and Treatment
Behavior is the most rapidly expanding field in veterinary
medicine. Advances in this field have made treatment of separation anxiety,
obsessive-compulsive behavior, cognitive dysfunction, aggression and biting,
inappropriate elimination, excessive barking and noise phobias possible.
In most of these cases, behavior modification exercises are the most important
aspect of treatment. However, in many cases, drug therapy may increase
the success of behavior modification. This area is very complex and requires
an accurate diagnosis on our part and a sincere commitment and reasonable
expectations by the owner. If your pet is experiencing any of these problems
or other behavioral problems, please ask us for details on how we can help.
Senior Health Care
Like people, our pets are living longer and, as with
human medicine, advances have been made in diagnosis and treatment of many
of the common diseases of our senior pets. We have developed a detailed
program to help better care for your friend in his or her later years.
Please ask us for details if your pet has reached middle age; usually 6-9
years old depending on their size.
